Traverse City Opera, our city's first and only professional opera company, was founded to give back to a community that has given so much.
The allure of the Grand Traverse region is undeniable and exists because of its people's talent and kindness. Traverse City is a one-of-a-kind place that deserves continued recognition outside of itself and cultural growth within it.
We are humbled by the support and enthusiasm our patrons have already shared with us, and it confirms that the people of Traverse City are excited about opera, the stories it tells, and the experiences it brings. The growth of Traverse City Opera will provide innumerable benefits to the community- it will boost tourism beyond the summer months, bolster the already strong culture for art appreciation, bring in a diverse pool of artists, and place Traverse City on the map in an industry where it previously did not have visibility.
Our strategic plan for the future envisions an opera season comprised of full-scale opera productions with orchestra, in addition to concerts and educational programming for our community's youth throughout the year.
